Job summary

Corgi Insurance in Boston is seeking a senior engineer to lead the quote-to-bind trucking platform. You will own critical systems end-to-end, including APIs and AI underwriting layers, and work across React, Node, and Python in a fast-growing insurtech environment.

You will design embedded partnership APIs, build AI features, and improve reliability while shaping engineering culture and hiring as we scale. This role is in-office in Boston with equity and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building production systems at a high-growth startup or technically demanding environment.
• Own services end to end, including schema design, API contract, deployment, on-call, and deprecation.
• Comfortable across the stack: React workflow, Node service, and Python data pipeline in the same week.
• Experience with modern AI tooling in production: LLM calls, structured extraction, RAG, evals.
• Excellent product sense with high ownership and ability to trade off automation vs solving the right problem.

Responsibilities

• Set direction on the critical systems that quote, bind, issue, and service a trucking policy.
• Design and build embedded partnership APIs to plug Corgi into TMS, ELD, load boards, and other platforms.
• Build the AI underwriting layer: data ingestion, document extraction, risk scoring, and underwriting tooling.
• Ship the producer and broker portal for submissions, quotes, binds, endorsements, and renewals.
• Construct telematics ingestion pipelines turning fleet data into underwriting signals.
• Improve reliability and performance of internal tooling for underwriters, claims, and ops.
• Help recruit and ramp the next wave of engineers as scale accelerates.
• Contribute to Corgi's engineering culture during growth.
