Job summary

DRW in New York City is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Cumberland/Options Data to own data products end-to-end and to design, build, and maintain time-series data systems with both batch and real-time processing. You will develop fast APIs for historical and live data access and collaborate with traders, researchers, and other engineers to ensure data integrity and availability.

The role requires 2+ years in Python/Java/C++, strong Linux experience, and knowledge of Airflow or Dagster,

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years’ experience using Python, Java, or C++, and ability to work in multiple programming languages.
• Experience working directly with end customers, scoping and delivering production systems in fast-moving environments.
• Ability to dive deep into complex problems, identify risks early, and minimize complexity.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with stakeholders and engineers.
• Experience in the financial markets, especially delta one, store of value, and/or FICC options trading.
• Experience with Linux-based, high-throughput, low-latency software systems.
• Experience with pipeline orchestration frameworks (Airflow, Dagster).
• Experience with streaming platforms (Kafka), data lake platforms (Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg), and relational databases.
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data solutions that support diverse trading activities.
• Take full ownership of data products, guiding them from initial concept through to stable production.
• Design, build, and maintain systems for both batch processing and real-time streaming of time series datasets, ensuring high data quality and reliability.
• Develop APIs and data access methods for fast, intuitive retrieval of historical and live data, working with both new and existing systems.
• Provide on-call support as needed.
