Qualifications

• Typically 10+ years of experience building and operating production software.
• Expertise in at least one modern language (C++, TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, Rust).
• Experience taking production capabilities from requirements through design, implementation, deployment, and reliable operation.
• Ownership of systems architecture across more than one project or team.
• Hands-on cloud experience with AWS and infrastructure as code, deployment, observability.
• Strong software design, testing, CI/CD, debugging, incident response.
• Experience leading technical planning, mentoring, and difficult tradeoffs for multiple developers or teams.
• Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools and validating AI-driven designs.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain high-value production capabilities.
• Define and maintain systems architecture across projects.
• Translate product needs into executable specifications and delivery plans.
• Establish engineering standards for code review, testing, CI/CD, and documentation.
• Own cloud platform direction in AWS, including IaC and cost awareness.
• Lead production incident response, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Evaluate AI-enabled solutions, including privacy, security, observability, and cost.
• Mentor developers across two teams through planning and feedback.
• Identify delivery and quality gaps and implement practical improvements.
• Communicate architecture, tradeoffs, risk, and investment needs clearly.
