Job summary

F5 Networks, Inc is seeking a senior software engineer to design, develop, and implement complete software components. You will lead the integration of complex modules and mentor junior engineers, ensuring scalable, secure solutions for our products.

You will collaborate with product management to define requirements, drive efficiency via automation, and uphold coding standards. The role requires deep experience with GoLang, Python, and C/C++, in a Linux and containerized environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or similar field or 7+ years equivalent professional experience.
• Strong experience in multiple high-level coding languages: GoLang and Python highly preferred, C/C++ or other languages desired.
• Ability to collaborate, adapt, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance team environment.
• Proven track record of guiding, mentoring, and providing technical leadership to other software developers.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a focus on driving continuous improvement and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Leads development of code and integration of complex components into a fully functional system, including leading the process of documenting and maintaining architecture, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs.
• Drives ongoing efficiency and reliability improvements through design and automation (availability, performance, scaling, monitoring, and capacity).
• Guides, mentors, and provides technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers to deliver well-tested, observable, documented, efficient, scalable, and resilient solutions.
• Represents the team in cross-organizational engineering meetings.
• Collaborates with principal engineers and management to define project scope, technical design methodologies, processes, standards, and estimation activities.
