Job summary

Cardinal Health seeks a Senior Software Engineer / Technical Lead to provide technical leadership, architecture guidance, and hands-on development for complex enterprise applications and cloud‑native platforms. You will partner with Product, Architecture, Security, Infrastructure, and Delivery teams to translate business needs into scalable solutions across multiple workstreams.

Qualifications

8-12 years of experience, preferred
Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices Architecture, React and/or Angular
Extensive experience with cloud platforms including Google Cloud Platform (preferred)
Strong experience with Kubernetes (GKE preferred), Cloud‑native application development, Container orchestration, Infrastructure as Code
Experience implementing and supporting CI/CD Pipelines, GitHub Actions, Concourse, ArgoCD, Terraform
Hands‑on experience with API Management and Integration platforms such as Apigee & Other enterprise integration platforms
Strong understanding of OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, API Security, Authentication and Authorization models
Experience with PostgreSQL, BigQuery, Relational and NoSQL databases, Data integration and analytics platforms
Experience using OpenAPI / Swagger, API lifecycle management, Automated testing frameworks, Observability and monitoring tools
Experience working within regulated environments such as healthcare, pharmacy, or financial services.
Understanding of HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST, Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC), Risk and compliance controls
Experience leading cloud migration and modernization initiatives.
Experience building enterprise integration platforms and API ecosystems.

Responsibilities

Lead design, development, implementation, and support of enterprise applications, APIs, and cloud‑native solutions
Own end‑to‑end technical solution delivery across multiple workstreams
Define and drive technical architecture, engineering standards, and best practices
Translate business requirements into technical solutions and guide implementation strategies
Lead technical planning, estimation, and architecture reviews
Drive design decisions balancing business objectives, tech debt, and risk
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to developers and partners
Serve as escalation point for complex technical challenges and incidents
Lead root cause analysis and prevent recurrence to improve reliability
Review designs, code, and deployment strategies for quality and compliance
Drive adoption of DevSecOps, CI/CD, IaC, automated testing, observability
Partner with Enterprise Architecture, Security, Risk, Compliance, and Platform Engineering teams
Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions
Design and implement integration solutions across internal/external platforms
Provide end‑to‑end oversight across application, integration, data, security, infra domains
Establish roadmaps for modernization and automation
Ensure operational excellence including monitoring, alerts, HA/DR, performance
