Job summary

Liberty Health in Wilmington, NC seeks an experienced Software Development Engineer III to lead the design and implementation of high-impact software systems. The role demands ownership of architectures, driving engineering best practices, and mentoring engineers across multiple teams.

You will collaborate with Principal Engineers, leverage Azure cloud services, and guide modernization efforts including CI/CD, observability, and secure data handling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline; 7+ years of engineering experience with C#/TypeScript
• Equivalent of 9+ years of experience acceptable in lieu of formal education
• 7+ years of agile software development experience
• 3+ years of experience building high-scale, distributed systems on Azure
• 3+ years of mentoring Software Development Engineers
• Experience in healthcare or post-acute care environments preferred
• Expert-level SQL database development experience; NoSQL/Vector DBs a plus
• Strong knowledge of IaC concepts, especially Azure Bicep
• Deep knowledge of TypeScript, C#, SQL, and related tooling
• Experience with Git, Confluence, Jira, and Azure DevOps pipelines
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and modern tech trends
• Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and leadership under pressure
