Job summary
Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer III to lead design, development, and delivery of large-scale software systems in Seattle. You will guide technical strategy, balance trade-offs, and set engineering excellence standards.
You will mentor engineers, drive cross-team collaboration, ensure reliability and security, and improve operational excellence while shipping features end-to-end for customers worldwide.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of software systems spanning multiple features from requirements through deployment and maintenance.
- Own the team's architectural direction by evaluating trade-offs across scalability, maintainability, performance and security.
- Collaborate with engineers across teams to ensure integration and cross-team delivery.
- Mentor and coach engineers, drive code reviews and raise the quality bar.
- Improve operational excellence with alarms, telemetry, runbooks and retrospectives.
