Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer III to lead the design and delivery of large-scale software systems that impact millions of customers. You will own architectural direction, drive technical strategy, and mentor engineers while continuing to write excellent code.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and delivery of multi-engineer software projects, owning your team's architectural direction.
• Write high-quality, production-ready code and explore AI-enabled productivity enhancements.
• Drive technical strategy balancing immediate delivery with long-term maintainability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align requirements and tradeoffs on scalability and security.
• Mentor engineers, contribute to recruiting, and establish runbooks and telemetry practices.
