Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced backend-focused software engineer to partner with the Product Manager, learn from customers, shape solutions, and iterate quickly while writing code and owning the technical execution of the product area.

You will own technical quality end-to-end through architecture, reviews, testing, monitoring, and rollback planning, adopt AI-native practices, build a product end-to-end hands-on in the code, mentor engineers, grow the team as the product scales, and report

Qualifications

• 5+ years building production systems.
• Strong backend architecture experience.
• Experience shipping production SaaS software end-to-end.
• Strong product sense and interest in partnering with Product.
• Ability to understand customer problems and communicate with customers, peers, and leadership.
• Judgment on when to move fast, invest in robustness, or simplify.
• Comfort working across the stack, including frontend, infrastructure, or tooling.
• High ownership mindset and ability to drive outcomes.
• Experience with Python, Django, PostgreSQL, TypeScript, Vue, AWS, or similar technologies.
• Experience shipping AI-powered features.
• Experience leading a team or major technical project.
• Experience mentoring engineers and reviewing others' work.
• Ability to provide technical direction through architecture, code quality, delivery standards, and clear tradeoffs.
• Strong judgment on when an LLM is the right tool.
• Permanent authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
