Job summary

Vosper Thornycroft Group is seeking a Senior Software Engineer/Team Lead to join our Herndon, VA team. The role focuses on building and maintaining containerized systems in a cross-functional Agile Scrum environment, with 100% on-site work in Herndon.

The candidate should have 2+ years leading a 3-5 engineer team, strong Java/Python/SQL/ShellScript skills, and 4+ years of Unix/Linux experience, plus familiarity with Kubernetes/OpenShift. A TS/SCI with CI poly is required for candidacy.

Qualifications

• 2+ years leading a team of 3-5 engineers developing an application that runs in a containerized environment, ideally Kubernetes/OpenShift based.
• 2+ years of experience with software architecture/design
• 2+ years of experience with Java
• 2+ years of experience with Python
• 2+ years of experience with SQL
• 2+ years of experience with Shell Script
• 4+ years of experience with Unix/Linux
• Bachelor’s degree with 9 years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with 7 years of relevant experience; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree requirement
• Security+ or equivalent certification and willingness to serve as a privileged user supporting deployed systems testing
