Givebacks is on a mission to help people do good every day without doing extra. We are making the giving process more inclusive by empowering people to leverage their everyday spending to generate partner-funded donations every time they shop. Givebacks members can choose from over 1M participating causes, from their local school or animal shelter to national charitable organizations. We are looking for a Lead Developer to join our Engineering Team focused on enhancing our products supporting our Non-Profit Organization (NPO) customer base.

Role Summary:

The Lead Developer - NPO will be responsible for leading the development and continuous improvement of our products serving our NPO user base. This role requires a strong technical leader who can drive the technical execution, mentor the development team, and deliver high-quality, scalable software solutions that empower NPOs to achieve their missions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of software development, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

What You'll Do:

  1. Collaborate with the team leads, design and product teams to translate wireframes and mockups into fully functional and visually appealing web applications.
  2. Develop and maintain front end components using React, ensuring high-quality and responsive user interfaces.
  3. Implement and optimize user interactions, ensuring seamless and intuitive experiences across different devices and browsers.
  4. Work closely with back end engineers to integrate front end components with backend APIs, ensuring efficient data flow and functionality.
  5. Write clean, modular, and well-documented code, following best practices and coding standards.
  6. Conduct thorough testing and debugging of front end components, identifying and resolving any issues or bugs.
  7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously improve the user experience and implement new features.
  8. Stay up-to-date with the latest front end technologies and industry trends, sharing knowledge and insights with the team.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, we believe this candidate must embody the following characteristics:

  1. At least 7 years experience designing, developing and maintaining high-quality React applications.
  2. At least 3 years experience in developing high-quality Ruby applications.
  3. Ability to develop responsive web applications, ensuring accessibility and compatibility across multiple browsers and devices.
  4. Experience with UI/UX design principles and the ability to collaborate effectively with designers.
  5. Understanding of software development principles, including agile methodologies.
  6. Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
  7. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including designers and product managers.
  8. Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  9. Engages in TDD as a standard practice.
  10. EST/CST time zone.
  11. US-Based.
  12. Experience with prompt engineering.

Nice to Have:

  1. Knowledge of mobile app development with React Native or similar frameworks would be beneficial.
  2. Understanding of security best practices for web applications, including authentication, authorization, and data protection.
  3. Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment, managing multiple projects and deadlines.
