Amazon Luna is hiring for a senior software engineering leadership role in Irvine, CA. You will design, build, test, and operate scalable streaming infrastructure, guiding architecture choices and mentoring teams.

The role spans Windows/Linux/Wine/Proton platforms and requires shipping customer-facing features in a fast-paced environment. You will work with product, engineering, and QA to deliver production-ready code, influence product direction, and ensure robust, scalable systems for

Qualifications

At least 5 years of professional software development experience beyond internships.
At least 5 years of programming experience in one or more languages.
At least 5 years of experience leading design or architecture for new and existing systems.
Experience as a mentor, technical lead, or engineering team lead.
5+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or an equivalent field.
Understanding software engineering best practices across the full development lifecycle, including architecture, continuous deployment, testing, and operational excellence.
Experience with video encoding and streaming media standards.
Experience working with Linux, Wine, Proton, and related operating system stack components.

Responsibilities

Design, build, test, and operate scalable services that support streaming infrastructure end to end.
Develop rapid proof-of-concepts, refine prototypes, and deliver production-ready code while balancing cost, timing, and performance.
Partner closely with product managers, engineers, and QA to ship customer-facing features that satisfy technical and business objectives.
Act as technical leaders by guiding architecture choices, reviewing code, and promoting best practices.
Work across Windows, Linux, Wine, Proton, and streaming technologies, contributing strategic input on product direction.
Own projects from idea through production and iterate quickly based on feedback.
Provide technical insight to help shape implementation priorities.
Collaborate across the broader organization to align engineering execution with business goals.
