Amazon Luna is hiring for a senior software engineering leadership role in Irvine, CA. You will design, build, test, and operate scalable streaming infrastructure, guiding architecture choices and mentoring teams.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of professional software development experience beyond internships.
• At least 5 years of programming experience in one or more languages.
• At least 5 years of experience leading design or architecture for new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor, technical lead, or engineering team lead.
• 5+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or an equivalent field.
• Understanding software engineering best practices across the full development lifecycle, including architecture, continuous deployment, testing, and operational excellence.
• Experience with video encoding and streaming media standards.
• Experience working with Linux, Wine, Proton, and related operating system stack components.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and operate scalable services that support streaming infrastructure end to end.
• Develop rapid proof-of-concepts, refine prototypes, and deliver production-ready code while balancing cost, timing, and performance.
• Partner closely with product managers, engineers, and QA to ship customer-facing features that satisfy technical and business objectives.
• Act as technical leaders by guiding architecture choices, reviewing code, and promoting best practices.
• Work across Windows, Linux, Wine, Proton, and streaming technologies, contributing strategic input on product direction.
• Own projects from idea through production and iterate quickly based on feedback.
• Provide technical insight to help shape implementation priorities.
• Collaborate across the broader organization to align engineering execution with business goals.
