Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Splunk Platform Authorization team. You will shape architecture enabling secure, high-performance authorization across Splunk's enterprise platform and take ownership of complex initiatives.

You'll work on C++ backend services, contribute to Go-based services, and advance cloud-native Kubernetes infrastructure while mentoring teams and driving reliability and scale.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software development experience; or 4+ with a Master’s; or 1+ with a PhD.
• Experience designing and developing distributed backend services in production.
• Experience in software architecture, technical design, and translating requirements into scalable solutions.
• Experience leading technical initiatives and coordinating across engineers.
• Strong collaboration across teams and mentoring through code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and develop high-performance backend services using C++, while contributing to Go-based services.
• Lead technical design discussions on distributed systems, scalability, and service-to-service trust.
• Own complex initiatives from design through delivery and coordinate across engineers.
• Modernize large C++ infrastructure toward cloud-native and Kubernetes-based services.
• Provide technical guidance through design and code reviews and support operations.
