Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a senior software engineer to design and integrate containerized components for a space mission planning system. You’ll work with agile teams on Kafka-based data streams and RESTful microservices, delivering reliable cloud deployments and robust code.

Requirements include a STEM degree with multiple years of experience and an active Top Secret clearance, plus strong skills in Java or Python, Linux, and modern build tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 8+ years of software engineering experience, or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 6+ years, or a Ph.D. with 4+ years.
• Active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance at application time, with ability to obtain Special Program Access.
• Strong programming in Java or Python; experience with containerized apps and private cloud deployments.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, Linux, Git, and build tools.

Responsibilities

• Work in an agile or iterative development environment with cross‑functional teams.
• Design, implement, and integrate containerized software components for space mission planning.
• Integrate mission planning services with Kafka streams for reliability and scalability.
• Develop RESTful APIs and microservices, ensure code quality and testing coverage.
