Job summary

Boeing Defense, Space & Security’s Experimental Systems Group seeks a software professional to convert customer requirements into robust software designs and to develop, test, and maintain non-embedded software across the full lifecycle.

The role emphasizes collaboration in an Agile environment, use of Java, ReactJS, CI/CD, and modern tools while aligning with regulatory and security requirements. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
• Active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship required for the security clearance.
• U.S. Person status required for U.S. export control compliance.
• 1+ years’ designing and developing software using Python, C/C++, C# and/or Java.
• 1+ years’ experience working under a Linux/Unix environment.
• 1+ years of software development experience in a collaborative team environment using agile principles and a structured development process including code reviews and automated DevOps processes/tools.
• Experience in Agile methodologies.
• Candidates must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest assessment process.
• Level 3: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Level 4: 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Up to 10% travel may be required.
• Technical assessment must be completed to remain under consideration.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and translate customer requirements into initial software product designs.
• Develop, maintain, enhance, and optimize software products and system integrations.
• Develop, document, and maintain software architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs.
• Debug and resolve issues to ensure software product reliability and efficiency.
• Handle user inquiries, troubleshoot technical issues, and analyze user feedback.
• Implement current and emerging software technologies, tools, frameworks, and regulatory changes.
• Develop, establish, monitor, and improve software processes, tools, and key performance metrics.
• Execute and document software research and development projects.
• Advise on software domains, system-specific issues, processes, and regulations.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain non-embedded software throughout the end-to-end lifecycle.
• Support the Bixby Software team within Boeing Defense, Space & Security’s Experimental Systems Group.
• Work with modern technologies including Java, ReactJS, CI/CD pipelines, and Scaled Agile methodologies.
