Job summary

Airbus Defence and Space in Manching, Germany, seeks a Senior Software Engineer for Simulator Visualisation Solutions. You will design and implement visualization components, databases and toolchains for image generators and simulation interfaces, with a focus on C++ and Python in a distributed real-time environment.

The role requires driving software development workflows, integrating visualization solutions, and enabling automated testing and CI/CD. Security clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• Master in computer science, games engineering, electrical engineering or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience with object oriented programming and scripting languages, especially C/C++ and Python.
• Interest in flight simulators and visualization technology.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop the software architecture for visualization or database preparation building blocks.
• Derive system requirements from operational requirements for new functionalities of Engineering and Training Simulation systems.
• Drive software development methodologies, toolchains and workflows.
• Perform code reviews and support the individual development of our software developer community.
• Evaluate and integrate visualization solutions and develop our in-house visual interface (mainly C++).
• Create tools for improving development processes (CI/CD pipelines, code generators, test automation).
• Integrate the developed components with the overall Simulator systems and Image Generator software.
• Create and perform automated unit and subsystem tests of our software building blocks.
