Job summary

Fortra, LLC in the United States is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Cobalt Strike engineering team. This hands‑on role focuses on building and maintaining systems‑level capabilities in a security product, with emphasis on C and Java components across Windows, Linux, and macOS.

You will debug complex issues, collaborate with product managers, researchers, QA, and support, and contribute to Agile planning.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in C development for cross‑platform applications.
• Ability to work with Java components within an existing codebase.
• Strong debugging skills for native and Java code.
• Familiarity with Windows internals and OS concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and maintain core Cobalt Strike features across native and Java components.
• Write reliable C code for Windows, Linux, and macOS with a focus on performance.
• Debug complex issues spanning native code, Java code, and customer environments.
• Collaborate with multiple teams to translate ideas into product capabilities.
• Participate in design reviews, testing, and Agile planning.
• Improve engineering practices and internal tooling.
