Job summary

Defense Unicorns is seeking a software engineer to own complex product capabilities for UDS VM, a product enabling secure VMs in disconnected environments. You will shape technical decisions at the intersection of Kubernetes, virtualization, and security.

You will design, implement, test, and deliver features across the VM lifecycle, mentor teammates, and collaborate with Product, UX, and Mission Heroes to drive pragmatic choices in a fast-paced federal market.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Go or another modern language.
• Experience with Kubernetes, distributed systems, APIs, and production backend services.
• Familiarity with Linux, containers, and virtualization technologies like KubeVirt or QEMU/KVM is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and deliver complex software features and systems across the VM lifecycle.
• Drive pragmatic technical decisions and resolve ambiguity with Product, UX, and Mission Heroes.
• Debug issues across Kubernetes, virtualization, storage, networking, and operating systems, and mentor teammates.
