Job summary

Defense Unicorns is seeking a Platform Engineer to join our team to strengthen the bridge between application development and a secure production environment. You will work on Kubernetes-based platforms, IaC automation, and security-driven delivery for US government engagements.

Qualifications include hands-on cloud-native experience (Kubernetes, GCP, Docker), proficiency in at least one programming language, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Platform Engineer with focus on system architecture and development.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Google Cloud, and Docker.
• Familiarity with CD/CI, distributed systems, everything-as-code, containerization, and cloud services.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python/Go/Ansible) and shell basics.
• Proficient with YAML.
• Strong problem-solving and independent work capability.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps/DevOps and CI/CD theory.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a clearance.

Responsibilities

• Automate and build a runtime Production Environment and bridge between Applications and Production.
• Validate solutions/implementations against business requirements.
• Independently solve problems and develop components for specific challenges.
• Estimate time and effort for medium-sized tasks and assist in planning.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate components into a cohesive platform.
