Job summary

The Walt Disney Company, based in Orlando, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, test, and deploy scalable software across Disney Experiences. You will own features, guide junior engineers, and influence solution design for future initiatives.

Responsibilities include leading component development, coordinating with multiple tech groups, and providing technical mentorship while delivering robust end-to-end solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience focused on scalable, high-volume apps.
• Strong understanding of microservices, RESTful APIs, and cloud computing.
• Proficient in object-oriented, reactive and functional programming.
• Experience with integration and deployment tooling such as Harness and Docker.
• Familiarity with relational (MySQL/MariaDB) and NoSQL (DynamoDB, MongoDB) databases.

Responsibilities

• Owns the design and development of software fixes, enhancements, and/or new system components.
• Drives development of components through own work and junior engineers’ work.
• Develops technical solutions that meet specifications and impact future delivery efforts.
• Executes assigned component-level software development projects and/or major fixes to existing applications using a mix of new and existing technologies.
• Develops specifications for assigned components, projects, or fixes.
• Writes own code for delivery efforts and reviews others’ code for oversight.
• Participates in setting the architectural direction for software delivery initiatives.
• Leads troubleshooting efforts on end-to-end application issues, including front-end and back-end solutions.
• Interacts and coordinates deliverables with other technical groups across the organization.
• Serves as high-level technical advisor and “go-to” resource for less experienced developers.
• Leads team members in problem analysis and issue resolution.
