Job summary

General Motors seeks a senior engineer to develop on the Salesforce Force.com platform, including Apex, Lightning Components, and LWC. You will build integrations, ensure quality with automated tests, and mentor teammates while maintaining documentation and deployment best practices.

You’ll collaborate across teams to modernize capabilities and stay current with Salesforce releases, contributing from inception to implementation in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field of study.
• Five (5) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer, Technical Consultant, System Engineer, or related occupation.
• Five (5) years of experience in Software Development; OO design patterns; DB concepts and data modeling; architecture.
• Three (3) years of experience with Force.com Apex (classes/triggers), Lightning components, LWC, Visualforce Flows, Omni Script, Flex Cards, JavaScript (ES6), ReactJS; Sales Cloud/Service Cloud knowledge; security model; platform risks.

Responsibilities

• Develop Apex and JavaScript on the Force.com platform and extend Salesforce.
• Build integrations between Salesforce and internal systems to automate processes.
• Verify solutions with automated test classes and maintain code quality.
• Collaborate, mentor, and guide engineers; document processes; maintain a code repository for seamless deployments.
• Stay current on Salesforce releases and best practices; work end-to-end from inception to implementation.

Duties

Work in a fast-paced environment with business technology and designers to build new capabilities platforms features and improving existing capabilities. Responsible for customizing, developing, and supporting solutions on the force.com platform. Drive Salesforce enhancements and improvements. Build integrations between salesforce and other internal systems to automate business processes. Develop Apex (classes and triggers) and Java Script, Lightning Components, Lightning Web Components, Visualforce Flows, Omni Script, and Flex Cards to extend Salesforce. Verify solutions by writing and executing automated test classes. Collaborate, mentor, and guide other engineers within the team. Well-developed interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills including the ability to negotiate, advise, influence others and work collaboratively. Document and analyze processes procedures and ensure code is properly documented. Create and maintain a code repository to ensure a seamless deployment process for all team members. Stay current on the latest trends and Salesforce releases. Self-directed, can solve business problems from inception to implementation, can solve business problems without explicit direction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field of study.
• Five (5) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer, Technical Consultant, System Engineer, or related occupation.
• Five (5) years of experience in the following: Software Development; Object oriented design patterns; Database concepts and data modeling design; and Modeling and application design and architecture.
• Three (3) years of experience in the following: Programming and configuring with Force.com Apex including classes and triggers lightning components, lightning Web Components, Visualforce Flows, Omni Script Flex Cards, JavaScript (ES6), ReactJS; Designing and developing large scale technology solutions with substantial insights into Salesforce Sales Cloud Service Cloud and communities; Salesforce SoQL and SOSL Security model Sales Cloud Service Cloud Chatter and Force.com product offerings; Salesforce Lightning UI understanding of various user-based security models; and Identify platform risks issues and dependencies.

Hybrid Work Policy - 3 days In-office, 2 days remote - Must be able to report to local office.
