Job summary

Frame in Los Angeles is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build the risk and compliance systems that power Frame's merchant model. You’ll work primarily in Rails, Go, and TypeScript on infrastructure that decides who gets approved, what gets flagged, and how quickly we can act on a signal.

You’ll collaborate with engineers across Risk, Compliance, and Product to own core FrameOS features, payment infrastructure, and developer-facing APIs.

• Contribute to Frame.js and our TypeScript SDK and web component library
• Build internal operations tooling, dashboards, case management, and workflow automation
• Ship developer-facing APIs and documentation
• Build AI-powered pipelines for adverse media classification, underwriting automation, and document processing

Senior Software Engineer

Specifics About The Role:

We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build the risk and compliance systems that make Frame's merchant model possible. You will work primarily in Rails, Go, and TypeScript on the infrastructure that decides who gets approved, what gets flagged, and how fast we can act on a signal. The surface area is focused. The problems are deep. You will work across Engineering, Risk, Compliance, and Product on systems where the edge cases are the product.

What You'll Do:

• Build core FrameOS platform features, including merchant onboarding flows, capabilities and requirements systems, KYC/KYB pipelines, and compliance workflows


• Own payment infrastructure spanning direct network and card scheme integrations, tokenization, ACH and card processing, and payout logic


• Contribute to Frame.js, our TypeScript SDK and web component library used by merchants to embed compliance-aware payment flows


• Build internal operations tooling, including dashboards, case management, and workflow automation


• Ship developer-facing APIs and documentation


• Build AI-powered pipelines for adverse media classification, underwriting automation, and document processing

What We Require:

• 4+ years of software engineering experience with strong Ruby on Rails and TypeScript skills, or comparable framework experience


• A track record of building platform infrastructure where reliability and correctness matter with an instinct for clean abstractions


• You are known for building APIs that are obvious on first read, systems that feel inevitable once you understand them


• You move when things are unclear, find another path when a dependency slips, and ship to learn rather than waiting for perfection

You’ll Be Successful If:

• You bring Fintech, payments, or regulated infrastructure background


• You have experience with compliance, KYC/KYB, fraud, or AML systems


• You have deep Experience with developer-facing APIs or SDKs, AI/ML pipelines for classification, document processing, anomaly detection, and Go


• You are someone who doesn't wait for permission


• When something is blocked, you find a way around it


• You don't quietly absorb other people's misses. You treat consequences as feedback and hold a high bar for yourself and the people around you


• You care about taste as much as speed: the system that feels inevitable, the API that clicks on first read
