Job summary

Robinhood is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Load and Fault Environments team in Menlo Park, CA. You will design and build infrastructure to simulate load, inject faults, and validate system behavior at scale, partnering with engineering teams to raise reliability.

You will own platform components end-to-end, write production-grade code, contribute to architecture discussions, and drive adoption of resilient tooling across the organization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building production systems.
• Experience designing or contributing to load testing, fault injection, chaos engineering, or developer productivity infra.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems fundamentals and failure modes.
• Familiarity with container-based infrastructure and Kubernetes; CI/CD integration is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain load testing and fault injection infrastructure for Robinhood's engineering teams.
• Own platform components end-to-end—from architecture to testing, deployment, and iteration.
• Collaborate with infra and product teams to translate needs into platform capabilities and drive adoption.
• Define steady-state hypotheses, blast radius controls, and fault-injection primitives for safe, repeatable chaos experiments.
