Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking a Senior Software Developer to administer and enhance the Edifecs platform in a remote, U.S.-based role. You will configure XEServer, XEngine, TPM, and SpecBuilder, build processing rules, and optimize batch workflows while addressing mapping issues and performance bottlenecks.

You will collaborate with EDI Analysts, DevSecOps, and Cloud teams, manage JVM tuning and security certificates, and support releases and upgrades in an enterprise environment.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of EDIFECS architecture and transaction lifecycles.
• Strong experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Hands-on understanding of the platform architecture and operational behaviors across Edifecs XEServer, XEngine, TPM, and EDI Gateway.
• Experience with EDI Integration, AS2, SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS, and API-based gateways.
• Experience with EDIFECS troubleshooting and performance optimization.
• AWS EC2 sizing, OS tuning, storage I/O, and network security considerations.
• Git/GitHub workflows, branching, and code reviews.
• Infrastructure as code with Ansible and Terraform.
• Ability to convey architecture trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience translating business reporting to technical data models.
• Agile practices (Scrum/Kanban) and JIRA.
• Strong documentation habits and migration runbooks.
• Collaborative cross-team operations.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, troubleshoot, and enhance the Edifecs platform and EDI processing.
• Configure and maintain XEServer, XEngine, TPM, and SpecBuilder modules.
• Build, deploy, and optimize Edifecs processing rules and batch workflows.
• Analyze and resolve mapping issues, validation failures, and performance bottlenecks.
• Manage JVM tuning, logging, and certificate/keystore configurations.
• Support releases, environment refreshes, patches, and upgrades.
• Collaborate with EDI Analysts, DevSecOps, Cloud teams and business units.
