Job summary

deciBel Research, Inc. in Huntsville, AL seeks a Senior Software Engineer to develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems including processing-intensive analytics and real-time applications.

You will review components, test adherence to design, and resolve issues across a broad software stack. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in a technical field, has extensive experience (15 years), and is proficient in TypeScript, C++, or Python.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
• 15 years of experience and strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, C++ or Python.
• Real-time processing, threads, scheduling, synchronization and memory management.
• Experience with container technologies and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with SAST tool remediation.
• Experience with Agile development and Atlassian tools.
• Experience with full software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debugging and maintenance.
• Experience with JIRA/Confluence; development for safety-critical and nuclear-critical software (DO-178C, AFMAN 91-119, DO-330) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems based on documented requirements.
• Review and test software components for design adherence and document results.
• Resolve software problem reports and provide input on system design, hardware/software tradeoffs, and use of COTS.
• Analyze requirements and decompose to individual software components.
• Participate in peer reviews and maintain revision control, defect tracking, and release practices.
