Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM, seeks an enthusiastic early‑career software engineer to design and develop software for a mission focused on high‑throughput remote sensing data processing.

You will join a multi‑disciplinary team delivering real‑time decision support systems, collaborating with architects, developers, customers, and end users to create extensible software. Onsite work is required to ensure mission success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field with five years of directly related experience.
• Experience in software design, engineering, and development.
• OO programming experience in C++, Java, or Python.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q and SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop software solutions and algorithms for remote sensing systems, including real-time satellite data processing.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, customers, and end users to collect requirements and deliver extensible software.
• Analyze existing systems and develop new solutions.
• Propose and lead image processing and data-centric research and development projects.
• Engage with data fusion, signal and image processing, analytics, cloud computing, machine learning, modeling and simulation, service architectures, data management and visualization.
