Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM seeks computer scientists to design and develop software for high-throughput, real-time data processing in national security missions. You will join a multidisciplinary team delivering solutions for real-time sensor data capture, processing, visualization, and distribution.

On any given day you may lead image processing projects, architect high-performance software for distributed systems, and collaborate across data fusion, cloud, and AI/ML

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q and SCI clearance.
• Proficiency in modern software development using C++ and/or Python in Linux environments.
• Experience designing, training, evaluating, and deploying AI/ML-enabled computer vision solutions.
• Familiarity with cloud-native or hybrid computing, including AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, or OpenShift.
• Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary and diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Be part of software teams that deliver solutions for remote sensing systems and real-time space-based sensor data.
• Propose and lead image processing and data-centric R&D projects focusing on computer vision algorithms.
• Architect, develop, and optimize high-performance software for real-time, distributed systems with CPUs, GPUs, and/or FPGAs.
• Engage with experts in data fusion, signal and image processing, analytics, cloud computing, machine learning, and visualization.
