Job summary

Aurora is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Aurora Services team. You will own substantial full-stack components, drive critical projects, and help scale the core command-and-control software for autonomous fleet operations.

Expect to design APIs and data pipelines, balance short-term MVPs with scalable design, and collaborate across operations, autonomy, and cloud infrastructure. The role requires strong technical and cross-functional communication skills.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of software development with ownership of key deliverables in large-scale full-stack systems.
• Experience designing, refactoring, and maintaining REST/gRPC APIs and microservices.
• Strong cross-functional communication with interdisciplinary partners and translating requirements into software abstractions.

Responsibilities

• Own substantial full-stack software components and drive projects from high-level goals to production-ready systems.
• Design and evolve APIs, data pipelines, and interfaces to support real-time fleet operations.
• Balance MVPs with scalable long-term software design, coordinating dependencies and estimates.
• Establish and guide team best practices for code quality, testing, performance, and documentation.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for core team components and collaborate with operations, autonomy, and cloud teams.
• Identify bottlenecks and drive improvements in code quality, performance, and reliability.
• Advocate for new technologies and shared infrastructure and onboard peers.
