Job summary

NVIDIA Corporation seeks an experienced software engineer to advance the GeForce NOW streaming stack on desktop and mobile devices. You will push the boundaries of latency, video quality, and system reliability across GPU-accelerated pipelines and cloud infrastructure.

In this role you will optimize codecs, implement measurement tools, and collaborate with GPU hardware and software teams to deliver top-tier streaming experiences with adaptive bitrate strategies and robust telemetry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience.
• Proficient in C, C++, multi-threaded programming, system software design.
• Experience with GPU-accelerated video and graphics pipelines, hardware-based video encoders, color spaces, video scaling, tone mapping.
• Familiarity with API frameworks such as DirectX, Vulkan, CUDA, OpenGL, V4L2, and NvMedia.
• Solid understanding of video codecs like H.264, HEVC, and AV1, with tuning experience.
• Proficiency in telemetry, data analysis, and performance monitoring in cloud infra.
• Strong OS, driver, and kernel-mode understanding and debugging skills.
• 6+ years of experience in the above areas.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve media streaming stack to deliver ultra-low streaming latency, video quality, and network resilience
• Innovate, design, and develop features to improve image quality, performance, reliability, security, and maintainability
• Analyze GPU/CPU performance for the video pipeline, isolate bottlenecks and implement solutions with GPU hardware and software teams
• Develop tools to measure video quality experienced by users and refine evaluations of quality improvements
• Leverage latest video compression technologies to deliver high-quality streaming for different interactive graphics applications
• Build adaptive streaming solutions that maintain quality under variable and unreliable network conditions
