Job summary

NVIDIA is seeking an experienced engineer to develop and optimize the media streaming stack for ultra-low latency, high-quality video across cloud and edge platforms. You will collaborate with GPU hardware and software teams to analyze performance and push for continuous improvements in video quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in C, C++, multi-threaded programming, system software design.
  • Experience with GPU-accelerated video and graphics pipelines, hardware-based video encoders, color spaces, video scaling, tone mapping, etc.
  • Familiarity with API frameworks such as DirectX, Vulkan, CUDA, OpenGL, V4L2, and NvMedia
  • Solid understanding of toolsets in video codecs like H.264, HEVC, and AV1, including tuning codec configurations to meet application requirements and trade-offs.
  • Proficiency in telemetry, statistical data analysis, and performance monitoring to measure and optimize video quality, latency, and system performance in cloud infrastructures.
  • Strong understanding of OS internals, drivers, and system software performance analysis, testing, and debugging.
  • 6+ years of experience in the above areas

  • Innovate, design, and develop features to improve image quality, performance, reliability, security, and maintainability
  • Analyze GPU/CPU performance for the video pipeline, isolate bottlenecks and implement solutions with GPU hardware and software teams
  • Develop tools to measure video quality experienced by users, refine to enable evaluation of quality improvements with high confidence
  • Leverage features and toolsets in the latest video compression technologies for different interactive graphics applications
  • Build adaptive streaming solutions that maintain quality and continuity under variable and unreliable network conditions

What you will be doing:

What we need to see:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Proficient in C, C++, multi-threaded programming, system software design
  • Experience with GPU-accelerated video and graphics pipelines, usage of hardware-based video encoders, color spaces, operations such as video scaling, tone mapping, etc.
  • Familiarity with API frameworks such as DirectX, Vulkan, CUDA, OpenGL, V4L2, and NvMedia
  • Solid understanding of toolsets in different video codecs like H.264, HEVC, and AV1, including tuning codec configurations to meet application requirements and trade-offs.
  • Proficiency in telemetry, statistical data analysis, and performance monitoring to measure and optimize video quality, latency, and system performance in cloud infrastructures.
  • Strong understanding of different layers of the software stack, including OS internals, user-mode and kernel-mode drivers, strong system software performance analysis, testing, and debugging skills
  • 6+ years of experience in the above areas
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
  • Experience with NvMedia or NVIDIA’s Video Codec SDK
  • Background in optimizing video pipelines on multiple GPU families or SoC platforms
  • Experience with real-time streaming protocols and adaptive bit-rate strategies under constrained networks
  • Experience writing or analyzing graphics rendering applications or sophisticated AI-based graphics generation, such as DLSS, RTX, FSR

Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is 184,000 USD - 287,500 USD for Level 4, and 224,000 USD - 356,500 USD for Level 5.

You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
