Job summary

Axon is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Axon 911 in New York, NY. You will work on high-performance devices and cloud software, tackling real-time, low-latency problems and AI-enabled features from inception to scale.

The role is hybrid with four days/week in the Manhattan office, and relocation assistance is available for eligible U.S.-based candidates. You will mentor others, improve backend reliability, and collaborate across teams to deliver mission-critical solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in production systems.
• Experience with real-time, low-latency systems.
• Strong distributed, event-driven architectures.
• Proven ability to build highly available, fault-tolerant services.
• Experience integrating AI-assisted development tools into the SDLC.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate cross-functionally to architect and launch new user-facing features and products
• Design and drive initiatives to improve the availability and reliability of our backend systems
• Continuously help improve the engineering processes and tools that allow us to scale the codebase and team
• Provide mentorship to less experienced engineers
• Travel occasionally to support customer deployments and onsite implementations
