Job summary

Infleqtion is hiring a DevOps / Platform Engineer to support control system software for quantum computers. You will work with software, embedded, and physics teams to build and maintain infrastructure, automation, and tooling across on-prem, lab, and production environments.

This role emphasizes practical solutions, evolving systems from early stages to robust platforms, with a focus on reliability, security, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or SRE roles; Senior level considered.
• Strong Linux system administration experience.
• Experience operating on-prem or hybrid infrastructure.
• Hands-on knowledge of virtualization, networking, NAS/SAN.
• Experience writing and debugging automation (Python, Bash).
• Ability to troubleshoot across software, OS, networking, storage, and hardware.
• Clear communicator with ability to document systems and participate in design discussions.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate on-prem and hybrid infrastructure for quantum platforms.
• Administer Linux systems in production and research environments.
• Manage servers, virtualization, and capacity from bare metal through VMs.
• Design and troubleshoot networking across compute systems and labs.
• Work with NAS/SAN and shared storage for high-throughput workloads.
• Develop and maintain automation for provisioning, testing, and deployment.
• Apply infrastructure-as-code and configuration management practices.
• Support and integrate networked lab equipment and IoT devices.
• Collaborate across disciplines to support testing, deployment, and operations.
• Participate in incident response and drive reliability improvements.
• Incorporate security and hardening as systems mature.
