Job summary

Akina Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer 4 to join our Annapolis Junction team to design, develop, test, deploy, document, maintain, and enhance complex software systems for a distributed Metrics and Monitoring solution on HPC platforms.

Role requires proficiency with Splunk, Kafka, and containerized environments. You will lead development teams and coordinate with system engineers in a fast-paced Agile setting.

Qualifications

• Experience with Linux CLI and related tools.
• Shell/Perl scripting to automate tasks.
• Splunk SPL, dashboards, reporting and onboarding.
• Splunk field extractions, data models and performance tuning.
• Splunk alerting and incident management workflows.
• Familiar with Log Management tools (Syslog-ng/rsyslog).
• Kafka familiarity as a message broker.
• IaC and automation (Ansible).
• CI/CD practices with GitLab CI and Git.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements to derive design and performance specs.
• Debug and fix defects in existing software.
• Design, code, and modify software to add new features.
• Develop data queries for databases and data repositories.
• Lead one or more software development teams.
• Develop cloud-based solutions and analytics.
