Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. seeks a Software Development Engineer II for the Programming Foundations team.

You will design and build developer tools used daily by Amazon engineers, contribute to compiler and build tool chains, and help scale our shared software platform across services. You will collaborate broadly, review code, and mentor peers while delivering reliable, scalable software that supports the language experience across the organization.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Design and build developer tools that Amazon engineers use every day.
• Work with languages and libraries powering Amazon's services to improve usability and reliability.
• Maintain build tools, compilers, and package managers; work on 3PSW repository mirrors.
• Collaborate with engineers across Amazon to understand pain points and build solutions.
• Write code, review teammates' code, and help others debug issues with our tools.
• Contribute to enabling builders to be more productive and efficient.
