Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. is seeking a Software Development Engineer to enhance the Programming Foundations Team within Amazon Builder Experience.

You will design and maintain developer tools and shared software platforms used across Amazon, mentor engineers, and contribute to OSS upstream projects. The role emphasizes deep technical leadership, broad impact across services, and hands-on work with compile-time and build infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Design and build developer tools used by Amazon engineers.
• Sustain and evolve shared software platforms and build tools, libraries and frameworks.
• Mentor engineers and raise the builder experience from the language perspective.
• Review code, help debugging, and contribute to OSS upstream projects.
