Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Seattle, WA invites applications for a Senior Network Engineer specializing in Network Architecture & SDN to design and implement a dynamic, self-healing space-ground transport network. You will work on routing, TE, and observability for a large constellation with inter-satellite links.

The role requires deep expertise in BGP/IS-IS/OSPF, SRv6/SR-MPLS, SDN controllers, and programmable data planes, with a focus on reliability and performance in challenging space environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 8+ years of experience in network engineering, distributed systems, or telecommunications.
• Experience with BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, and SRv6/SR-MPLS in network environments.
• Experience implementing or working with SDN controllers and programmable data planes (P4, OpenFlow, or proprietary frameworks).

Responsibilities

• Develop routing solutions, topology management systems, and fast-reroute mechanisms for time-varying LEO constellations.
• Create capacity models translating RF link characteristics into network-layer implementations.
• Develop SDN frameworks to support centralized and distributed control planes.
• Implement real-time TE and policy enforcement for data flow across satellite and terrestrial backbones.
• Build observability components and self-healing network logic using telemetry.
