Job summary

HomeToGo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (PHP) to join our Checkout team. You will own features end-to-end and help improve the checkout and post-booking experience across our marketplace.

Work with PHP, Symfony, and a modern stack (Elasticsearch, RabbitMQ, SQS, Kubernetes, AWS) to build scalable services and mentor peers.

You will collaborate with business stakeholders, design APIs, and contribute to architectural standards in an international, growth-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Deep expertise in PHP and Symfony.
• Experience building scalable, distributed systems.
• Solid knowledge of relational databases.
• Experience designing APIs and integrating with third-party systems.
• Hands-on experience with LLM-based tools, both as a user and as an engineer building AI-driven solutions.
• Fluent English and stakeholder communication.

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer (PHP) to join our Checkout team. You will play an essential role in our platform’s success by joining the team responsible for enhancing the checkout process and post booking experience. Your expertise in PHP development will be instrumental in delivering seamless user experiences and optimizing the booking flow for our users.

In this role, you will

• Take end-to-end ownership of features, from refinement to production, including engineering decisions on larger topics
• Design and build entire applications, partnering with architects to ensure the scalability, reliability and usability of our Marketplace products
• Work with business stakeholders to define requirements, plan milestones and iterate on features based on measured performance
• Contribute to technical and architectural standards across the company
• Mentor teammates and take part in hiring
• Work with a broad stack including PHP, SQL databases, Elasticsearch, RabbitMQ, SQS, Kubernetes and AWS

What you will bring

• At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience
• Deep expertise in PHP and Symfony
• Experience building scalable, distributed systems
• Solid knowledge of relational databases
• Experience designing APIs and integrating with third-party systems
• Hands-on experience with LLM-based tools, both as a user and as an engineer building AI-driven solutions
• Comfort working directly with business stakeholders
• Professional working proficiency in English
