Job summary

Worldpay, a leader in payments, is seeking a Software Engineer II for its A Team in the Greater Boston Area. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices powering payment processing for merchants.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, apply Agile practices, and contribute to both microservices and a large monolithic application. This role requires Boston-area location and US eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science or related discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in Java software engineering.
• Exceptional design and SQL and Java programming skills.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Experience with Microservices architecture, globally distributed services, and 24/7 support.
• Experience with RESTful API design and cloud technologies like Kubernetes and Kafka.
• Proficiency with SQL, relational data modelling, and database schema design.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test software for scalability, reliability, and data recovery for a high-volume platform.
• Collaborate with Product, Platform, Merchant Services and Support to translate requirements into solutions.
• Use Agile techniques such as pair programming and TDD to maximize productivity and quality.
• Deploy new features into production with zero downtime and no impact to current users.
• Build domain expertise in e-commerce payments and apply engineering to develop new product features.
• Work in a team-focused culture with strong collaboration and communication.
