Job summary

Roblox Corporation is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Orchestration pod. You will design and run the platform that executes large-scale end-to-end and integration tests across Roblox data centers, cloud, and device labs to help ship engine, clients, and Studio with confidence.

You will build distributed services, coordinate real-device test runs, and implement capacity-aware scheduling, isolation, and smart retry to ensure reliability at scale.

Qualifications

• Strong experience building distributed systems or backend services such as schedulers or orchestration.
• Proficiency in Go and/or Python; Luau is used only for test tooling.
• Solid fundamentals in distributed systems: fairness, efficiency, reliability.
• Experience with health monitoring, fault detection, and automated recovery.

Responsibilities

• Design and build distributed services for the test platform across fleets of machines and real devices.
• Run real client on physical hardware at scale, coordinating test state and gameplay scenarios.
• Develop capacity-aware scheduling, isolation, and smart retry/backoff for reliability.
• Build systems that monitor hardware and cloud fleet health and recover from failures.
• Move artifacts and manage client state, enabling test owners to validate runs.
• Evolve legacy automation harnesses into a cohesive Universal Test Platform.
• Take projects from design to production, supporting multiple engineering teams.
