Job summary

Jobtailor in the United States is seeking a senior software engineer to analyze, design, and develop business applications and interfaces. You will lead projects, mentor teams, and collaborate with IT and external vendors to deliver timely solutions.

Requires 5–7 years in development, with strong SQL, Java, Python, and Oracle APEX experience, plus MES/QMS/SCADA familiarity. On-site role based in Illinois with a focus on manufacturing/ERP integrations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in IT or related field.
5-7 years of experience in a programming/development environment.
Knowledge of Windows Server, Unix, and Linux.
Proficiency with SQL, PL/SQL, Java, Python, C#, VB (.NET), HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript and XML.
Experience with Oracle APEX and Vue.js.
Familiarity with ASP.NET MVC, Razor, and Blazor.
Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite and multiple functional areas.
Knowledge of Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), Microsoft 365, Azure DevOps (CI/CD).
Experience with MES, QMS, SCADA/HMI platforms and IT/OT environments.
Understanding of plant-floor integrations, PLC-connected devices, protocols, and data collection.
Experience with Oracle and SQL Server databases.
Proactive problem-solving, multitasking, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and with teams to define solutions.

Job description

Responsibilities

Analyze, design, develop, maintain, and improve business processes and corresponding software applications
Develop, implement, and maintain business software applications and interfaces within specified time frames
Create technical solutions by interpreting business requirements and strategy
Provide information, support, mentoring, and training to internal customers, team members, and IT
Test and debug complex application systems for accuracy, standards compliance, requirements adherence, and acceptable response times
Document application systems and procedures, including test scripts, LDRP, maintenance, process, training, and customer documentation
Technically lead moderate to complex projects and provide direction to team members and internal customers
Work with outside technology vendors as required
Prioritize work according to organizational needs and meet project timelines

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in an IT related discipline or related experience
5-7 years of experience within a programming/development environment
Knowledge and proficiency with Windows Server, Unix, and Linux
Proficiency with SQL, PL/SQL, Java, Python, C# and VB (.NET), HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and XML
Experience with Oracle APEX and Vue.js
Familiarity with ASP.NET MVC, Razor, and Blazor
Experience supporting Oracle E-Business Suite and one or more functional areas: Order Management, Inventory, Bills of Material, Warehouse Management System, Process Manufacturing, Enterprise Asset Management, or Quality Management
Knowledge of Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), Microsoft 365, Azure DevOps (CI/CD), and enterprise applications supporting manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, warehouse, and transportation operations
Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Quality Management Systems (QMS), SCADA/HMI platforms such as Ignition, industrial automation, and IT/OT environments
Understanding of plant-floor integrations, PLC-connected devices, industrial communication protocols, operational data collection, and manufacturing support processes
Experience with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases
Proactive problem-solving, multitasking, organizational, documentation, communication, and project management skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, analyze complex assignments, define and create solutions, and grasp abstract concepts
