Job summary

SAIC seeks an experienced Software Engineer to modernize a modular software suite across warfighting functions, delivering high-performance solutions on an open-architecture platform spanning enterprise cloud and tactical edge environments.

Based at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD, the role supports the full SDLC in garrison and fielded settings, including DDIL scenarios, with collaboration across vendors, government stakeholders, and agile teams to meet security and interoperability standards.

Qualifications

• Eight or more years of software engineering experience with defense/military programs.
• Experience designing scalable, modular software across multi-vendor environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deliver scalable, modular software solutions across cloud and tactical edge environments.
• Translate requirements and acceptance criteria into maintainable code meeting security and interoperability standards.
• Collaborate with architects, SMEs, UX designers, and analysts to ensure solution integrity through the program lifecycle.
• Evaluate software capabilities, data onboarding, API performance, and data synchronization across domains.
• Support development of tactical edge configurations for DDIL operations and network restoration scenarios.
• Participate in product demos, design reviews, and agile cycles to assess compliance against requirements.
