Job summary

RTX in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to develop the next generation of aircraft seating software. This onsite role focuses on complex technical problems and delivering innovative software solutions across the full development lifecycle.

Candidates should have a STEM degree with 5+ years of experience, strong C/C++ skills, DO-178 knowledge, and experience with Docker, CI/CD, and Agile practices. Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship is required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 5+ years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with 3+ years.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Experience with software development, testing, and/or integration using C, C++.
• Knowledge of DO-178 is required.

Responsibilities

• Work on complex technical problems and provide highly innovative solutions.
• Contribute across the SW development lifecycle, including SW/HW integration.
• Use strong investigation and troubleshooting to assess issues and develop solutions.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, internal and external.
• Participate in program and customer meetings/reviews.
• Support program leads on technical decisions and problem resolution.
• Provide technical leadership on key tasks or line items.
• Help ensure performance meets technical, cost, schedule, and quality goals.
