Job summary

RTX is seeking a junior Software Engineer to help develop the next generation of aircraft seating. This onsite role can be based in Winston Salem, North Carolina or Jamestown, North Dakota. You will work on embedded software and C/C++ development, and contribute across the full software lifecycle.

The position emphasizes collaboration across disciplines, adherence to quality practices, and continuous learning within a leading aerospace and defense company.

• Typically requires a STEM degree and less than 2 years of relevant experience.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Experience with programming languages C/C++.

This an onsite position that can be based in either Winston Salem, North Carolina or Jamestown, North Dakota.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years prior relevant experience
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the company's immigration sponsorship now or in the future. The company will not offer immigration sponsorship for this position. The company will not seek an export authorization for this role
• Experience with programming languages C/C++

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Familiarity with embedded or low-level software development, including OS-adjacent or hardware-interfacing work.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools
• Familiarity with Agile lifecycle process including Scrum, Continuous Integration, and Test-Driven Development Methodologies
• Familiarity of DO-178

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
