Unity Compass in Gaithersburg, MD is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, test, and maintain enterprise software applications using modern development practices in an Agile environment.

You will collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, architects, DevSecOps, and other engineers to deliver scalable, secure solutions for mission-critical systems, including RESTful APIs and microservices.

Qualifikationen

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with 8–12 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s with 6–10 years of relevant experience.
• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in one or more object-oriented programming languages, including Java, C#, Python, and C++.
• Experience developing web-based applications and enterprise software solutions.
• Experience designing, developing, and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Strong understanding of OO design, software architecture, and design patterns.
• Experience using Git or other distributed version control systems.
• Experience in Agile Scrum or SAFe environments.
• Excellent analytical, debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Aufgaben

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise software applications.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, architects, and developers to deliver high-quality software in Agile sprints.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and reviews.
• Develop maintainable, secure code following best practices.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed architectures.
• Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews to promote engineering excellence.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Develop automated tests (unit, integration, end-to-end).
• Collaborate with DevSecOps to implement CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
• Optimize performance, scalability, reliability, and security across enterprise environments.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and technology roadmaps.
• Support production deployments and troubleshooting in mission-critical environments.
