Job summary

Unity Compass is seeking a Mid-Level Systems Engineer to join a high-performing technical team supporting the development and delivery of advanced geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) capabilities. You will contribute to the design, integration, and optimization of complex mission systems that provide timely, accurate, and actionable intelligence to national decision-makers and operational users.

A DoD/IC environment background is highly valued, with MBSE tools and Atlassian product experience

Qualifications

U.S. citizenship required per contract.
Bachelor’s in Systems Engineering, CS, or related field with 4–8 years (or Master’s with 2–6 years).
Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, including requirements management, integration & test, and configuration control.
Experience in DoD or Intelligence Community environment.
Familiarity with MBSE tools and methodologies (e.g., Cameo, SysML).
Proficiency with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence), MS Office, and collaboration platforms.

Responsibilities

Support system architecture design, requirements development, integration planning, and configuration management.
Provide engineering expertise for mission systems across the full system lifecycle from concept through deployment and sustainment.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure interoperability, scalability, and mission alignment.
Evaluate and recommend tools, techniques, and processes for system development and integration.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including ICDs and engineering reports.
Participate in technical reviews, readiness assessments, and milestone events.
Conduct analysis of system performance and provide recommendations for optimization.
