Job summary

System One is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Gaithersburg, MD to design, develop, deploy, and maintain mission-critical enterprise applications. This hands-on role requires collaboration with product owners, architects, Scrum Masters, and DevSecOps teams to deliver secure, scalable software.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience, strong OO programming skills (Java, C#, Python, or C++), and experience with RESTful APIs, databases, and Agile methodologies.

Qualifications

• Eight or more years of professional software development experience.
• Experience writing clean, scalable, secure code.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Proficiency with Git and Agile Scrum/SAFe environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise software applications.
• Develop clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following secure coding standards.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed solutions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Develop automated tests and perform code reviews to guide juniors.
• Troubleshoot issues and analyze root causes; support CI/CD pipelines.
