Attentive is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for its Onsite Customer Growth team in New York. The role focuses on building scalable backend services and data-driven features to grow customer engagement on clients’ websites.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including backend or customer-facing apps at scale.
• Experience designing and operating distributed systems, APIs, and microservices with focus on reliability and performance.
• Proficiency in Java or TypeScript and strong backend fundamentals for either backend or full-stack roles.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and developer tooling (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, databases, caching, queues).
• Ability to translate business goals into clear technical plans and own technical decisions.
• Track record of clean, well-tested production code and a collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve scalable backend services, APIs, and user-facing capabilities for onsite growth products.
• Lead technical design for new features, balancing reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with product, design, AI, and data teams to deliver data-driven experiences.
• Anticipate future needs and design scalable solutions for growth and scale.
• Improve observability, resiliency, and performance of onsite experiences.
• Mentor engineers, drive design discussions, and uphold high engineering standards.
• Contribute to a strong engineering culture with pragmatic architecture and measurable customer impact.
