We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the OpenTelemetry team at Observe by Snowflake.

This role involves pioneering new instrumentation capabilities in the OpenTelemetry community, designing and implementing Collector components and SDK libraries, and collaborating with the open-source community to shape industry standards.

You will architect and own the Observe Agent, contribute to Semantic Conventions, and work closely with product teams to address customer challenges.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in the OpenTelemetry ecosystem, strong Go skills, and familiarity with at least one SDK language. Experience with cloud-native services, open-source contributions, and a passion for observability are essential. Bonus points for OTel SIG involvement, LLM/AI instrumentation, or experience building Collector distributions.
