Troy Web is seeking a Senior .NET Software Engineer to drive architecture and development using Microsoft technologies. You’ll collaborate in a hybrid role, with a Cohoes, NY base and occasional EST-based remote work requiring periodic office visits.

You will design, implement, test, and deploy cloud/web/mobile software, mentor junior staff, and work on complex projects for diverse clients across health care, education, and more.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of software development with C#/.NET on Microsoft stack.
• Experience with REST/gRPC design and modern SPA front-ends.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum teams and CI/CD workflows.

Responsibilities

• Define software and database architecture for new solutions.
• Lead projects as technical lead and mentor teammates.
• Develop, test, and deploy web/mobile software using Microsoft technologies.
• Collaborate with analysts/PMs to translate business requirements.
• Participate in QA, perform deployments, and support operations.
• Ensure code quality through unit/integration testing.

JOB DETAILS

We are seeking a Senior .NET Software Engineer to work with Microsoft/Azure technologies in a team environment using industry-standard best practices. An exemplary applicant will have a strong knowledge of the .NET Framework in the C# languages, an ability to work on several projects at once, the skills to professionally troubleshoot issues, the ability to work independently, and the acumen to work with customers directly. In this role, you will apply software engineering principles to design, develop, maintain, test, and deploy client software projects while keeping your sights on solving business problems. We are looking for someone who is innovative, self-driven, and has a strong technical focus combined with a team-oriented attitude.

We would ideally like someone willing to work hybrid onsite at our Cohoes, NY office, but we are willing to consider EST-based remote workers who are able to visit our office with some frequency.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of software development experience on modern Microsoft platforms, including C#, ASP.NET Core, Razor, Blazor, Minimal APIs / Web APIs, and .NET 8/9 (LTS) is preferred
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and modern source control workflows (Git) is a plus
• Skillful in writing unit and integration tests using xUnit
• Experience with RESTful and/or gRPC API design
• Hands-on experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, OpenAI Codex, Cursor, or similar to accelerate development, code review, and testing workflows
• Experience building and architecting new solutions from the ground up
• Experience with Angular, React, Vue.js, or equivalent SPA with a strong understanding of web development is desired
• Experience working in a blend of on-prem and cloud environments
• Skillful in writing Unit and Integration Tests
• Expertise in SQL Server or equivalent relational database experience
• Practical experience using Entity Framework Core or relative ORM.
• Experience working on an Agile / Scrum Team environment

Responsibilities:

• Defining the software and database architecture for new solutions
• Take charge in creating and implementing new solutions as the technical lead of a project
• Producing software and database designs that meet both business and technical requirements
• Performing hands-on development and unit testing of web-based software solutions primarily based on Microsoft technologies
• Gaining a deep understanding of written and verbal business requirements provided by analysts or Product Managers
• Participating in quality assurance, including system testing of the software developed when required
• Managing software deployments and ongoing software support
• Help mentor, lead, and coach junior team members with architectural direction, managing git branches, architectural best practices and coding standards
• Perform work within allotted hourly budgets and within specific timeframes
